Habakkuk 3:17-19

Though the fig tree should not blossom
nor fruit be on the vines
the produce of the olive fail
and the fields yield no food
the flock be cut off from the fold
and there be no herd in the stalls
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord
I will take joy in the God of my salvation

God, the Lord, is my strength
he makes my feet like the deer's
he makes me tread on my high places.

  1. I just found out about your son Micah’s passing and my heart aches for you and your wife at this time. As I have read through your blog postings I can see that the Lord is the rock you are holding on to. Yes, there are many questions with few adequate answers but I do pray that you feel the presence of the Lord with you during your grieving time. You are in my wife (Jen) and my prayers. If there is anything or any way I can be of help to you please let me know?

  2. I have always been impressed with you, Cory, and your humble, Christlike integrity. In this time of loss and grieving you continue to be an example to me of steady godliness and character. Each day, Keegan,Kathy, and I, and my parents have been praying for you and Heather and all our family who feel this loss with you. I pray that you would sense God's presence with you comforting you both...
    So do not fear, for I am with you;
    do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
    I will strengthen you and help you;
    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

  3. cory and heather- we are friends with your Reed and Rachael. they shared with us about your son- i was reading through your post and this one stuck out to me because this is one of the verses that my husband, andy and i were married on.. then 4 years later is one of the verses we read at our son's funeral.
    we didn't have as many months on earth with our son as you did with yours- but we know your pain, your hurt, and the tension with knowing that this is God's plan (job 42.2) and the hurt that is feels!
    praying for you much
