Are we scary?

Especially the first few years after our son died, we got the sense that people were so afraid to say the wrong thing to us that they didn't say anything at all.  Rather than welcome us in, emotionally, people shut us out.  If you know a bereaved parent, please don't be afraid to reach out to them, even if you make mistakes.
